Robust Ghost Pipefish _D855041-Edit
In about 3 feet of water tucked beneath the fringe of a mangrove, this Robust Ghost Pipefish, about 4 inches long, believes it is well camouflaged beside a piece of dead seagrass. It was difficult to distinguish until lit with strobe light.
This reminds us: early in the trip we found several Velvet Ghost Pipefish and a Halimeda Ghost Pipefish (rare), but our UW camera equipment was still in Fiji. .
