Wakodahatchee Wetlands, Palm Beach County, FL D75_1826
In May 2018 we traveled to West Palm Beach, FL for an underwater photo workshop and took an afternoon to visit this artificially created 50 acre marsh which now serves as a sanctuary for approximately 200 species of local and migratory birds. People must remain on the 3/4 mile elevated boardwalk. The birds are fairly accustomed to the presence of humans and many will nest or venture just a few feet away.
Although we arrived after the soft morning light had given way to a more harsh mid-day sun, the photo opportunities were just too good to ignore.
