Costa Rica
Images from a 2-week "sampler platter" trip in May 2022. We wanted to gain a broad familiarity with Costa Rica, particularly the provinces of Guanacaste and northern Puntarenas.
During our stay we did some scuba diving, went on a couple organized tours and visited close friends who live in Ojochal. We didn't take the UW photo gear but did take "bird lenses", yet we barely got started on the extensive bird and wildlife encounters the country offers.
To get around we rented a SUV and had no problems driving within the country. Three nice surprises were: (1) how clean (unlittered) the country is in general, (2) the tapwater is safe for drinking almost everywhere, and (3) all gas stations offer clean public restrooms. We found the people, the food, the culture and the country to be exceptionally pleasant and look forward to a return.
